as Recommendedas Recommended is an Internet start-up currently attaining funding from the financial sector. The brief they provided was to produce a striking corporate identity that could be recognised quickly and pulled through a wide variety of mediums including web, print and advertising media. The company recommends products and services to the public and business sectors. Their logo was designed to represent a no.1 rated product. We produced a series of design concepts with their logo, including an award that could be handed out annually to businesses and to individual products. We provided two stages of online design. The first was a demo web site to show the ideas and possibilities behind As Recommended's business plan. The second was produced to explore the possible site functionality, GUI and also to incorporate the possibility of selling the functionality via a template system to multiple business partners. The proposed GUI of the finished web site would incorporate a 'data card' system. Any path through the site could be followed through on a 'data card'. Multiple cards could be open and viewed within the site simultaneously, allowing the user to compare data on similar items held in the site database instantly. These cards could be saved or even mailed though to a friend who is interested in that subject, allowing the user to play off reviewed items in the site in a 'Top Trumps' fashion. There is only a limited path through the demo site as it was produced for presentations at venture capitalist meetings.
