EnigmatecEnigmatec are an IT company based in London and the US providing software which creates a management layer between business processes and the IT resources required to execute them. Enigmatecs branding requirements were extensive and included logotype design, stationery design, web site design, as well as ongoing work involving application design for their products, advertisement design, product literature design, power point presentation design and an exhibition stand design. Logotype & stationeryEnigmatec already had an established logotype, however Cyan Shiner helped them refine their logo further by cleaning up its overall appearance and helping them select a more appropriate, contemporary type face for their logo and literature. We then made this information available in the form of a brand guidelines document which they could supply to their employees, printers and designers based in the US to help keep brand consistency within their literature and digital literature. The clean concise design of their logotype is pulled through into their business card design, letterhead design and their product folder which holds their product sheets and other literature. Product Literature DesignEnigmatec provide their clients with product literature in a number of ways. It can be in the format of product white papers: A4 product sheets that are both printed and in PDF format and also in PowerPoint presentation design templates, optimised to be altered in-house by Enigmatec. All the elements of their literature are designed around the strong brand and the cube and grid design elements that represent their products grid architecture. Advertising & Presentation DesignMost of Enigmatec’s advertising design also revolves around publicising their products at large IT shows and free publicity events associated with those shows. We have provided magazine advertising publicising their shows, promotional literature to hand out at the shows and a 6 by 3 metre trade booth design to act as the backdrop for their presentations, we even provided the design for a rubiks cube to be handed out as a promotional item at shows and then incorporated tied this into their ad design. Application Product Design & Product BrandingEnigmatec’s main product, the EMS (Execution Management System), allows a user to design the structure for a flow of events using an icon based design within a Windows user interface. Cyan Shiner provided a complete set of icons to represent all of the elements within their product design view. We also converted these icons to versions to be used within the Windows interface as menu icons. The main icon in the EMS design is the service icon which uses cogs to representing a service. The cog concept was then used in conjunction with the Enigmatec brand to create the EMS product branding, producing a brand which is instantly recognisable by both EMS users and clients who are already familiar with the Enigmatec branding. It was also incorporated into the other elements needed for the product, including loading and installation screens, backdrops, the product help section and packaging for shipping the product out to clients. Web Site DesignTo complete Enigmatec’s re-brand we pulled the new design style through into their web site. Our priority was to create a simple, clean web site which is easy to navigate. We also needed to allow as much information as possible to be viewed at any one time, which we did using an expandable structure within a browser window. We worked closely in conjunction with Enigmatec to integrate the site into a CMS (Content Management System) which allows their marketing department to edit the content of the site themselves without having to use any web site design or site building knowledge. © Cyan Shiner Ltd 2004 - brand driven design solutions |
